Sensei Amie Benton
Sensei Amie Benton has been training in martial arts since 1992 and is currently graded 4th degree black belt in Goju Ryu Karate. Woodley Goju Ryu Karate Club was founded by Sensei Amie in 2009.
Sensei Amie is also a qualified personal trainer, FA level 2 football coach, first aider and DBS checked. She has NSPCC child protection in sport and is fully insured and holds the safeguarding code in martial arts. Her interests also include playing ladies football and kickboxing.
She has trained for many years under Sensei Norma Robertson and Sensei John Barnes (1992 - 2015) and with Sensei Andre Leister, 5th degree black belt, (2016 - 2018) associated with the English Goju Ryu Karate Association.
In 2019 Sensei Amie joined the Goju-Ryu Karate-Do International (GKI) under Chief Instructor Sensei James Rousseau (9th Dan) and Sensei Len Sims (8th Dan).
Sensei James and Sensei Len train hard to maintain their skills and pass on the teaching within the GKI to keep standards of martial arts high, this maintains a high standard within our club. You can be assured that you or your children will be taught to the highest standard.
